On February 10th, representatives of the Bosniak American Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BAACBH) held a fundraiser in St. Louis, Missouri. The fundraiser took place at the local Islamic Center which is supervised by Imam Muhamed Hasic. St. Louis has a large Bosnian population, currently estimated at 50,000. The majority of the Bosnians in St. Louis are refugees who came to the United States as a result of the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s.

The fundraiser was presented under the title “Why does Bosnia and Herzegovina need a lobby in Washington, D.C.?” BAACBH representatives described the current activities and upcoming events that the organization is working on with the help of a PowerPoint presentation. BAACBH representatives stressed the importance of a lobby that works for the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina and assists U.S. foreign policy on the Balkans so that Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people are never again the target of aggression and genocide.

At the end of the event, BAACBH representatives thanked all of the individuals that attended the fundraiser. Also, special thanks went out to Imam Muhamed Hasic and Murat Muratovic for the hard work that they contributed to the event.
