On Oct 3rd, 2008 BAACBH Executive Director Ms. Elmina Kulasic was cordially invited by the Heinrich Boell Foundation to attend the celebration of the 'Day of German Unity,' Germany's national holiday. On this day in 1990 the German Democratic Republic (East) acceded to the Federal Republic of Germany. The celebration not only remembers the Cold War experience of separation, but it commemorates the peaceful unification and presents a chance to move forward into a time of economic prosperity and demographic opportunities.
