BAACBH Celebrates BiH Statehood Day

The Bosniak-American Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BAACBH) would like to recognize and celebrate the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Statehood Day.

On November 25, 1943 in a town called Mrkonjic Grad, the Anti-Fascist Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ZAVNOBIH) declared BiH an equal community of Muslims, Croats and Serbs and the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina was re-established. BAACBH would like to honor and
commend BiH's rich and vibrant history and most importantly the centuries old multi-ethnic society that is the embodiment of BiH.

The prosperity of BiH is vital to the overall stability of the Balkan region and Europe. BAACBH strongly believes that with the help of the United States and the EU, BiH must undertake a comprehensive constitutional reform which will enable BiH to become an efficient and effective state capable of meeting its domestic and international obligations and enable BiH's integration into the EU and NATO.

To encourage the necessary changes in BiH, BAACBH advocates on behalf of the Bosnian-American community, works to strengthen the Bosnian American voice in Washington, D.C., and deepen the public and international understanding of issues related to BiH.
