BAACBH Community Outreach Efforts in Grand Rapids, Chicago and St.Louis

As part of our organization’s efforts in reaching out and working collaboratively with the Bosnian-American community across the United States, on April 3, 2010, BAACBH was invited to the roundtable discussion titled; “The Role of BAACBH in Washington, D.C.” organized by the Congress of North American Bosniaks (CNBA), Michigan Chapter, in cooperation with the Bosnian Cultural Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The guest speakers were Ms. Elmina Kulasic, BAACBH Executive Director; Mr. Haris Alibasic, president of the CNAB Board of Directors and BAACBH Board of Trustees member; Mr. Kemal Hamulic, president of the CNAB, Michigan Chapter, and Mr. Sanel Fazlic, President of the Bosnian Cultural Center. Ms. Kulasic gave a detailed description of the BAACBH’s role, mission and activities in promoting the interests of Bosnian-Americans and Bosnia-Herzegovina in Washington, D.C. The forum was also an opportunity for Bosnian-Americans in Grand Rapids to ask questions and inquire further about the work of BAACBH.

On April 7, 2010, Ms. Kulasic along with a BAACBH Board of Directors member, Mr. Sulejman Dizdarevic, gave a presentation on the activities of BAACBH in Washington, D.C. The event was sponsored and organized by a consortium of several Bosnian-American organizations in Chicago, IL.

On April 10, 2010, Ms. Kulasic participated in the ” Building Pathways to Success: A Career Mentoring Program for Bosnian Americans,” workshop in St. Louis, organized by the Bosnian Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts & Sciences (BHAAAS) and the Fontbonne University, St. Louis, Missouri. The purpose of the workshops was to initiate the cooperation between Bosnian-American professionals with the younger generation of Bosnian-Americans by developing cooperative links and projects of mutual interests among the Bosnian diaspora community in the United States.
