September 19, 2012 – Washington, D.C. – The Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina (ACBH) is pleased to announce that Congressman Adam Kinzinger has joined the Congressional Caucus on Bosnia (Bosnian Caucus). Congressman Kinzinger is the U.S. Representative for Illinois's 11th congressional district, serving since 2011.
"ACBH is honored to have Congressman Kinzinger as a member of the Bosnian Caucus and we welcome his support for a democratic, multiethnic and indivisible BiH. The state of Illinois has the second largest Bosnian American population in the U.S. We are highly encouraged by Congressman Kinzinger joining the Bosnian Caucus, increasing the Caucus to 30 members" said ACBH Board Member, Patrick McCarthy.
As the voice for Bosnian Americans, ACBH looks forward to working with all Bosnian Caucus members in furthering its work on U.S. – Bosnia relations. ACBH encourages all Bosnian Americans to contact their members of Congress and ask them to join the bipartisan Congressional Caucus on Bosnia.
The Bosnian Caucus, chaired by longstanding friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Congressman Russ Carnahan (D-MO), provides congressional support for necessary political and economic reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina and also strengthens the U.S. engagement in the region.
