Leaders of IABNA visit BAACBH

On June 27, BAACBH welcomed to its offices Dr. Senad ef. Agic Head Imam of the Islamic Cultural Center in Northbrook, Illinois, and Dr. Bajram ef. Mulic from the Islamic Community Center in Long Island City, New York. Respected Imams are also leaders of the Islamic Association of Bosniaks in North America (IABNA). Imams Agic and Mulic were invited to Washington in order to attend the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Islamic Center of Washington. In his address to commemorate the anniversary, President Bush emphasized America's respect for the Muslim faith, and said: "Our country defended Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo after the breakup of Yugoslavia."

At Imam Mulic's request, later that day BAACBH representatives met with Imams Agic and Mulic to discuss common interests as well as potential future projects between BAACBH and their respective organizations. The Imams provided full support for BAACBH projects in Washington D.C., including its recent initiative, the Congressional Caucus for Bosnia. All present agreed that the next joint initiative would be working with Bosnian communities in the United States to expand the caucus.
