New Members of the ACBH Board of Directors

May 6, 2013 – Washington, D.C. – The Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina (ACBH) is pleased to announce the appointment of seven new members to the organization's Board of Directors effective May 6, 2013. Ms. Mirzeta Hadzikadic will serve as ACBH's new President with the departure of Mr. Admir Serifovic who has served as the President of the Board of Directors since 2009.  The other outgoing board members are: Ms. Adna Karamehic-Oates, Mr. Haris Hromic and Mr. Denis Mrkva. 

"ACBH is a much needed organization dedicated to helping people of Bosnian-Herzegovinian origin express their views, interests, and concerns in the U.S. Congress. The previous leaders of the organization have put it in an enviable position to effectively realize its mission. I am looking forward to working with the new Board on raising both expectations and achievements to an even higher level for the benefit of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the U.S." stated the newly elected President, Ms. Hadzikadic.

ACBH welcomes Mr. Vehid Deumic as the new Vice President along with Mr. Faruk Pasic, Dr. Sarah Wagner, Dr. Kenan Arnautovic, Mr. Benjamin Tikvina and Ms. Ida Sefer-Roche to the Board of Directors. The newly appointed members represent Bosnian American communities across the United States and have dedicated themselves to ACBH's mission and look forward to building on the work of their predecessors.

"I would like to thank the outgoing Board of Directors for their selfless hard work throughout the years and I would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Bosnian American community and all of our donors, partners and friends in Washington for helping ACBH advance the interests of Bosnian Americans and strengthen the relationship between the United States and BiH" stated outgoing ACBH President, Mr. Admir Serifovic.

During this process of transition towards a new Board of Directors, ACBH is thankful for the hard work, dedication and long lasting contributions made by the retiring members: Mr. Admir Serifovic, Mr. Haris Hromic, Ms. Adna Karamehic-Oates, and Mr. Denis Mrkva. ACBH looks forward to continuing to be the leading voice for Bosnian Americans in Washington and advocating for a united, democratic and sovereign BiH.
