BAACBH Meets with House Democratic Caucus and House Republican Conference

On July 15, 2011, BAACBH Executive Director, Ms. Ajla Delkic, met with Ms. Shelley Rubino, House Republican ConferenceChief of Staff of the House Democratic Caucus as well as Johnny Hiler and Sarah Makin of the House Republican Conference. The Democratic Caucus, chaired by Congressman John B. Larson (D-CT) works with every Democratic member of the House of Representatives to help achieve consensus, bring their ideas and work to the forefront and ensure members have the tools they need to implement their goals. It is the only subgroup within the House of which every Democrat is a Member. 

Their counterpart, the House Republican Conference, chaired by Congressman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) is the party caucus for the Republican Party in the U.S. House of Representatives. It hosts meetings and is the primary forum for communicating the party's message to members. Ms. Delkic discussed with them the importance of keeping Bosnia and Herzegovina on the forefront of U.S. foreign policy and the importance of U.S. involvement in the region. Furthermore, Ms. Delkic talked about the activities of BAACBH and the involvement of the Bosnian American communities in the U.S. political process as well as their noteworthy contributions to their new homeland.
